Spring is for celebrating new life. I was so honored to be able to photograph baby Darius’ baptism at Greens Farms Congregational Church. It was a festive Palm Sunday service, a beautiful family, and a sweet little addition to the congregation.
Pakistani American father of United States Army Captain Humayun Khan, who was killed in 2004 during the Iraq War, Khizr Khan was the subject of international attention following his speech at the 2016 Democratic National Convention criticizing then Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. I’ve never heard a person speak so passionately, knowledgeably, and peaceably about the American constitution.
The only thing more fun than an engagement session is when it involves roaming around the woods with your sister and brother-in-law-to-be, looking for those fairytale spots that make a photo a little extra special (I'm always game to combine work with a walk in the trees).
I walked around with Chelsea and Matt (and my dog, Henry) for a good two hours last weekend, scanning a favorite local park for the perfect scenes. Our time investment paid off with a set of photos that capture the calm, cool nature of this special duo, while shining a light on the fact that even a couple that has been together for nine years (since high school!) can look at each other like they are newly in love.

Colette's first birthday party was on a beautifully sunny day at Artisan in Southport, Connecticut. Every session reveals a lesson, and that day's lesson was one that I find to be constantly reinforced: The best photos often aren't posed, but carefully captured moments that happen when you go with the flow and let the little take the lead.
